The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Councils of the Visayas Regions under the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) will again be hosting the 4th Visayas ICT Cluster Organization (VICTOR) Conference and the 2nd Visayas National Creative Congress (CreaCon) on February 18 & 19, 2016, respectively, at Pueblo de Panay, Roxas City, Province of Capiz. The two-day event is being hosted by the Capiz ICT Council with the theme - "VICTOR 2016: Reinventing the Visayas Countryside through ICT".

It’s official: DICT bill sails through House without hitch

With more than 200 votes in favor and no one against it, the proposed law creating the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) hurdled on Friday, Oct. 9, the third and final reading in the House of Representatives.

Lawyer Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, also the chairperson of the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP), said it was Magdalo party-list representative Ashley Acedillo who marshaled the support needed for the bill’s passage.

The KEC is an annual event organized by the Philippine Community eCenter Network (PhilCecNet) in coordination with the ICT Office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). This year’s theme, “CeCs for Inclusive Growth and Development: Connecting, Sharing, Empowering” will center on the CeCs changing role of connecting the community amidst free Internet access and their strategic and critical position to the hub for sharing relevant content and resources as well as empowering mechanisms through education and gainful economic engagements.
